The HBD-20W is a double sided 720kB 3.5" floppy disk drive with interface adapter, released by Sony in Japan.

The 100V power supply is integrated in the disk drive unit. The interface is attached to the drive by a fixed cable, and there is no support for connecting a second drive.

Sony Japan ran a promotion from 1988-02-21 to 1988-04-20 where if you purchased a HB-F1XD, HBD-F1 or HBD-20W you got the F1 Tool Disk (F1ツールディスク).

The interface includes a ROM with version 1 of the Disk BASIC instructions. The floppy disk controller is the Western Digital TMS2793NL.
