The Quickshot QS-138F is a joystick released in Europe. The product name is "Maverick 1M". The M stands for Microswitch, which gives a more tactile response then leaf switches.

It can connect to two joystick ports simultaneous and the player can be selected with a switch. This also allows the joystick to potentially be used with two different systems without changing cables around.

It has an auto-fire function that can be enabled (probably Trigger A only).

The multi-system select switch can be switched between (A) ATARI/COMMODORE , (B) MSX, (C) AMSTRAD or (D) SEGA

Note: There are several other models of Quickshot "Maverick" joysticks.

  • QS-128F Maverick 1 - Multi system (same, but with leaf switches)
  • QS-128N Maverick 2 is for NES
  • QS-128NL Maverick 2 is for NES
  • QS-190 Maverick 2B is for SNES
  • QS-162 Maverick 3 is for SEGA Genesis/Megadrive
  • QS-175 Maverick 3+3 is for SEGA Megadrive & Genesis

They all look very similar at first glance. Before purchasing for use with your MSX, ensure it looks like the pictures below, that it has the system select switch and just two trigger buttons.
