The FS-FD1A is a double sided 720kB 3.5" floppy disk drive with interface adapter built into one unit, released by Panasonic in Japan. The floppy disk controller is the Toshiba TC8566F.

It requires a separate external power supply, the FS-AA94. There is no support for connecting a second drive.

The unit was specifically designed for use in the rear slot of the FS-A1 and FS-A1mkII. For this purpose rubber feet were included such that it would rest on the desk. It can however be used with other systems.

The interface includes a ROM with version 1 of the Disk BASIC instructions.
