SANNO was the name of a program ran by the SANNO Institute of Business Administration to computerize the Japanese schools. Under the SPC label (SANNO Primary Computer) three MSX systems were released; all were re-branded models from other manufacturers, Casio and Sanyo.

Prior to the release of the SPCmk-II, Sanno had released another (non-MSX) computer based on the Sord M2, hence the mk‑II branding.
