A flash cartridge containts a flash ROM chip instead of ROM (Megarom). A flash ROM can be rewritten tens of thousand times and and keep its data between 10 and 20 years. These characteristics that make it ideal for storing the real images of any ROM cartridge with same mapper or similar.
