Description
FlashJacks is a cartridge which includes multiple devices. Inside we can find a typical FlashROM and RAM, a compatible Sunrise drive and several audio systems for our MSX. All of this can be connected to an internal slot expander at our convenience. It is the philosophy of this cartridge to get all of these devices coexist in a single slot and behave like the original device they synthesize without patches nor software adaptations.
The cartridge contacts are tinned.
Features
- Possibility of disable/enable its four sub-slots and each can be allocated to a supported device.
- Up to 4 MegaFlashROM of 4MB each with 15 customisable mappers and with choice of the FlashROM type (AMD, ATMEL, MICROCHIP, etc…). Mappers have a predictive system that mixes heuristics with a database. Read and writing are possible until switched off.
- Up to 4 Memory Mappers of 4MB each and MSX1 compatible.
- Up to 4 MegaRAM of 2MB each.
- 1 SD card interface with support of hot removal and insertion of the SD card. All of them managed with a driver adapted for FlashJacks.
- Sinfox v4.04 compatible mode. Accesses to your original EPROM with your mapper and with the possibility of writing both to card and EPROM.
- Sunrise IDE interface compatible mode. Auto-conversion and on-the-fly operations to the SD card. Data is transformed IDE <–> SD transparently for the user. Compatible with NEXTOR IDE Ver 2.1 Beta 2 drivers. Full read and write compatibility and SD tab against accidental writing. Access to SDCARD compatible SDSC and SDHC up to 4GB which is what the NEXTOR driver allows. Future possibility of increasing capacities with modification of the drivers.
- 2 PSG with stereo outputs. Sampling rate 48khz 16bits per channel. No loss of groove.
- 2 SCC/SCC+ with stereo outputs. Sampling rate 48khz 16bits per channel. The occupied slot or subslot can be selected. This device allows double slot occupation.
- 1 FM-PAC with stereo outputs. Sampling rate 48khz 16bits per channel. No slot loss for audio pickup. In addition, you can add a FMPAC unit with full synthesis where the internal soft is included with its original mapper and even an 8kbyte SRAM with predictive self-saving.
- 1 OPL3 with stereo outputs. Sampling rate 48khz 16bits per channel. It can be transmuted into MUSICMODULE FM, MOONSOUND FM or OPL3 as we configure. With the FRS1.3 ROM capabilities are increased and you can even bypass the FM to the OPL3.
- 1 SFG with stereo outputs. Sampling rate 48khz 16bits. You can select this audio chip with the Jotego JT51 core.
- 1 custom 8bits sampler compatible Covox or MSX TurboR PCM.
- 1 SN76489 with stereo outputs. Sampling rate 48khz 16bits per channel. Now you can select this audio chip with the Jotego JT89 core.
- 1 Jacksboy. Full 8-bit system embedded in Flashjacks. Functional and without additional peripherals. Only with your Flashjacks and a normal MSX2.
Note: RAM refresh is not done by the MSX and speed accesses are between 2nS and 40nS even for read and writing to the FlashRom.
