After a long period of silence, Tim Brugman and Maikel Bloemendal released a new version of BlueMSX-Wii. Earlier, version 1.0.1 was released silently, as it only contained a few minor bugfixes and version 1.0.2 was scheduled for release shortly after that.

BlueMSXBox is a BlueMSX Emulator port for XBox which has been made by Xport/Madmab Edition Projects. Like fMSXbox, this emulator makes it possible to play MSX games on a Microsoft XBox console. New in this version:

  • New feature "Seconds before playing movie" determines how long the emulator will wait before playing a movie. The default is half a second. This will help speed up rom browsing.

  • A new HD skin for 720p users

This year has been an interesting year for emulator fans. Many MSX emulators for different host computers have seen the light. Today Daniel Vik released a new text only MSX1 emulator that runs in a DOS shell. The emulator is intended to support enough hardware emulation to run MSX basic in a DOS shell.

BrMSX - still alive

Since a few months, the BrMSX site had disappeared and the development of this emulator was stopped. BrMSX is known as one of the better MSX1 emulators. It seems that Ric Bittencourt is still very active. He has now his own mailing list, dedicated to BrMSX and his other MSX activities.

On this list you can find more recent versions of BrMSX (version 2.10 for DOS, version 3.0.14 for Windows).
