A new version of the SDCC compiler for MSX was released today. SDCC is an opensource C-compiler for Small Devices. The version Boukichi created compiles C-sources into code that works in an MSX ROM cartridge (.ROM files). In version 0.3 a problem with using global static arrays was fixed.

A new version of the SDCC backend for MSXDOS, about which we reported before, has just been released. In this version the interrupts can be handled by using the new reserved 'interrupt' syntax and the library of functions for altering, installing and uninstalling the ISR.

SDCC is a C compiler for microcomputers that generates Z80 compatible codem released under the GPL license at Sourceforge. On the website of Avelino you can find a patch for this compiler, which makes the SDCC compiler generate MSXDOS compatible code.

Konamiman has updated his MSX page with a new library for the SDCC compiler: ASMLIB. This is a library that allows to execute arbitrary assembler code (for example BIOS routines or MSX-DOS functions) from within C code.

As a complement to the patch for the compiler SDCC, which generates ROM files for MSX (published by Boukichi on www.emucamp.com/boukichi/cbios.htm), a new patch was developed for this cross-compiler that generates MSX-DOS compatible .COM files.
