Repair a broken Maze of Galious rom ?

I have the original konami pcb from: the maze of galious which has a broken rom chip (physically).
Can I desolder the rom and put some eprom type 27c256 or similar? Thank you.

Maze of Galious is 128kB in size so you would need a 27c1000 or something like that, but those are probably not pin compatible to the mask ROM used (but I am not entirely sure).

Sorry I don't have it at the moment but I do have the RC743 which is the same pcb, luckily this was fixed by brushing the cartridge connectors.
Can someone tell me why this pcb has a second chip?

I have seen the normal 1chip pcb and the scc but I did not know this one.

The VRC chip is a mapper.

The Konami VRC 007431 is the normal, non-SCC Konami mapper for ROMs larger than 32kB.

Are you sure it's the ROM that's broken?
The failure can also be caused by the capacitors or a track.
Can you take a picture of the other side?

This one is from Penguin Adventure now works sanding the boards pins.
The broken one was the maze of galius (now replaced by a 29f040 and working perfect).
