I never understood the freeze syndrome that it have when it comes to flashing anything or even erasing anything...it should technically be instant.

Done! I fixed it officially. I moved everything from mfc flash to cf and booted mm directly from c2. Didn't need to press anything.

It works...everything works, the music and everything...however....I did not flash the boot menu at all

So it skipped the boot menu because I did not flash it and went right to IDE. That made it work. I can actually now separate between mfc and c2......in fact...if I think about it...right now most of my games are in dsk image that I am playing, I think I can run or mount dsk image files directly on c2 much like mfc...but if it is too complicated I have my rookie drive. I can mount disk images in rookie drive and have c2 be the main flash card to play almost all my games!! I think...this is going to work well. THANK YOU GUYS FOR EVERYTHING! I SOLVED IT...I am going to put mfc into vacation mode for a while, until I finish most of the dsk image games or maybe until I am tired of playing dsk images and I want to go into cartridge mode...I think there is one game in cartridge mode I want to finish myself...but it is ok...I will keep it in pause for now. Ok...I love this. It is working well.

Hmm C2 without boot menu, interesting choice! Really.

As mentioned before you can use C2RAMLDR in MM for most ROM games. Just substitute it where it now has OPFXSD in the MMRET.DAT (I think that is the configuration file’s name).

It would be enough to set autostart to DefConfig entry and put zero as autostart delay in the configuration menu. Without Boot Menu your C2 will work with default settings for volume and other features.

Freezing during flashing is not normal and may indicate a malfunctioning FlashROM chip.

It seems to be working now.... Say, I wanted to put the boot menu back for argument sake anyways, if I managed somehow to check autostart is true and it autostarts..would it behave the same as no bootmenu and everything just automatically starts right away? I am just curious.

Yes. That's how Manuel and a few other people use C2.

Did anyone test the new Boot Menu with firmware bypass feature?

I learned my lesson hard...seriously hard....Carnivore2 and Megaflash are two different kinds of kings with different ways of ruling a country. You cannot have two kings ruling a country at the sametime. MSX is the country and c2 or mfc are the kings....I learned my lesson hard.

- grin - Now I will be officially using c2 80% of the time and I love the flashing LED when it reads heheh
