Just a question: why do you use both MFR SCC+ and C2 at the same time?
MFC to run MM and run all the games inside the MM while C2 to be used for fmpac for music for the games that run in MFC.
Here is the thing...this is exactly the configuration I have right now...exactly like this. My only problem I have is, I still need to press F5 everytime I power my MSX in order for it to start detecting IDE and so on and get the fmpac + SRAM to work and all the good stuff. If I don't press F5 c2 is never detected, never booted and fmpac is never executed.
Anyone have any idea how to resolve this issue? Here is the setting I have, megaflash rom scc+ placed in slot 1 and C2 placed in slot 2. If I don't press F5 c2 is ignored and all it's features are ignored. Now, I am going to be honest, I will constantly press F5 because I want my MSX2 to run in PAL mode which is way superior in quality and I have pixel perfect and looks great with most of the games. So I guess concerning this factor it is a mode point discussing it, but..for future reference I have this issue unresolved. Can someone help me?
The reason might be because MFR also has firmware skip code…
Maybe, but this happens if it is C2 by itself. This happens even if I am combining c2 with rookie drive nx, regardless of the location of the slot I always need to press F5 in order for the bios not to bypass. Any advise then? My issue is that C2 bypassed by default. I don't want it to be bypassed by default.
Um, so you didn't realize that MM is just a program that can run on any MSX2 and doesn't need the MFR SCC+? You can just put it on your CF card and run it off your C2's Nextor/DOS2 for instance...
It’s odd, C2 should always show the bootmenu. This is on your PHC-23? Do you have autostart set on some entry in the bootmenu? Can you make a video of the machine booting with only C2 and share it?

I was informed by the author of C2 himself that MM only works on MFC and does not work on C2. I was informed only SofaRun works with C2. I don't want to use SofaRUN myself, I prefer MM instead.

Here is the thing. If I don't press anything like F5 for example, I get the boot menu splash screen first then followed right away to the menu selection and so forth. I press return and go right to MSX 2 basic or if I have MFC to MM in NTSC mode with no fmpac working or any of the cool features of C2. In order for me to activate C2 for real and the IDE of C2 starts working and it is looking for a CF cardand fmpac works and the additional 1 MB RAM works I need to press F5 at power up of MSX2, keep holding on F5 until C2 activates and then I let go of F5. I suppose it is not important really, since it works by pressing F5 I just need to remember that everytime I reset MSX I need to keep pressing F5, I was just hoping it is automated instead, that is all.
MM only works on MFC and does not work on C2.
Have you tried this version?
MMv2.07Aplus-RC4:

Thank you gdx, I will try it out. If it works automatically on it's own then I will migrade all my data from MFC to C2 and run it directly there....save me the burden of going F5 every single tortures time. Of course, I will pressing CTRL key to go PAL mode...I realized PAL is awesome to play all games on MSX.
MM will work on C2 but if you use MM as supplied with MFR it is configured to use e.g. OPFX for ROM files. It will as such flash the game to MFR and reboot. To get bck into MM you need to bypass the flashed ROM with ESC during boot.
C2 does not support this workflow because it always goes through boot menu and will hold multiple roms. It is a different design. The closest would be to use C2RAMLDR from MM (but you are “limited” to 720kB size for ROM games).
Yes of course. You need to configure MM according to your usage.
Maybe this wiki page will help you a bit.

Also read the doc which is very complete.
