Meits - I like the boot menu to put my favorite down the road, hope it«s not from there, disabling everything menas desabling the sound? Tha Carnivore 2 gives much more louder sound then any of my MSX, the Only MSX with loud sound it the Philips 8235, the rest are just so low.

Manuel - Thanks I will try that this Sunday.

sdsnatcher73 - Loot of information, but I'm a bit noob in the MSX and Sofarun 8 is all in default I just press to boot the game and then start with no options selected.
I can put sofarun on the carts memory as a rom? thats great, didn't knew it was possible, I will see some information on it.

gdx - Yes, I'm using JoyMega, in the future I will move to a Saturn gamepad with neogeo cabling and then a Neogeo2MSX cable.

Nas_Sutromi: it's just in the manual, see https://sysadminmosaic.ru/en/msx/carnivore2/carnivore2#auto-...

You can't put SofaRun in the flash. But you can let SofaRun run MSX ROMs in two ways on the C2: 1) using the MegaRAM mode (Carnivore 2 - RAM) and 2) using Carnivore 2 Flash. For the latter you first need to reserve space on the C2 Flash for SofaRun, so it can flash to a region without overwriting other stuff in the C2 Flash ROM. That's what sdsnatcher73 meant, it is documented in the SofaRun manual.
You can also use the Memory Mapper method (works on all devices with a Memory Mapper, including Carnivore 2), but that has a much lower chance of running ROMs successfully, as this needs on-the-fly patching of the ROMs to make them suitable for the Memory Mapper.

In that case I have been running ROMs in Carnivore 2 Ram that's the default!? It lods games perfectly but the problem in the PAnasonic MSX2+ is killing me, because if it does that in 1942 it will do the some in other games, and that's what I want to fix, because if it runs everything ok on the A1-WX them thats the machine I will use, well at least until mi ST does not arrive.

Isn't the joymega support also live patching the ROM image? That may fail.... But I suppose louthrax would be the right one to comment on that.

Well live patching would have the same result on an HB-F900. Only thing that somewhat could explain it form what I read is that turbo mode in the Panasonic. It may interfere with the timing of the games reading the joysticks.

I can upload a vídeo in portuguese I have already made, or, I can make one in Inglish to see if it helps desclosing, but I have no Problems on Sony HB-F900 nor in Philips 8235, but I would rather use an MSX2+ due to better hardware, and they do have this incredible design.

It's quite easy to find out if there's some sort of turbo mode active. On Panasonic MSX2+ machines the PSG pitch will go up. So yes, please upload a video and be sure the music is recorded as well.

Hello!

I'm testing my Carnivore 2 in my MSX computers and have found a problem in Panasonic MSX 2+ that I dont have on my Sony F-900.

The Panasonic machines dont like my Carnivore? My Joysticks? or somethin else... the problems are:
- Carnivore 2 mais menu - only controller 2 works no controller 1 signal
- Boot.cas menu onlu controller 1 works
- Sofarun 8 both controllers work
- Boot up 1942 [Zemina] - controller 2 only and only my Mega Drive 2 MSX adaptor works up / down and fire during game no left and right and no second botton.
- Sword of IANNA - works OK with original XE1-Pro and MD2MSX in Port 1

On my Sony F-900 all games work properly with any Joystick and MD2MSX on Port 1.

Is there some configuration need to be done?

I have a quite good idea of the inner working of Joymega and the UP/DOWN and one button only sympton is a clear indication that the output pin of the joystick port is not changing its value properly to cycle through the different status registers of the controller. Perhaps this is some interference of Carnivore 2 extra PSG making your machine go crazy about the PSG ports? My guess is that sofarun works because when you ask it to use Joymega it will intercept quite a lot of stuff and process it on its own, and that is probably hard coded and not dependent on bios routines (that it probably tries to replace).
