Thank you.

On this version, several noises and sounds are like muffled and there is some crackling. Some sounds make like a cooing. For this games, I still prefer the SCC version.

Yeah, the Mission / SCC version always has best sound that enhances.

I think it might be also possible to emulate SN using FM.
Maybe translating NOISE to drums would be... exotic, to say the least.
Do you guys know where can I find more information about the native FM chip included with some MSX models?
*PS* I would consider FM to be a better solution as it was natively included in some later msx models...

I would really like some SN76489 or AY-3-8910 on a YM2413, if any one of you guys can make it possible, I'm interested to see it.

Tone emulation (AFAIK) is already perfect on my early emulators.
1st stage would probably mean leaving tones just as they are and implementing noise as drums.
I never ever even looked at YM2413 documentation, but (in theory), I suppose, it shouldn't be too hard.

Good, I can't wait to see what work you guys got next. :-)

Do you guys know if there's an easy way to test the YM chip from inside, let's say, Basic, for instance? Just outputting registers?

Possibly by using outs to #7C-#7D...
Any online tutorials, showing how to play an instrument using outs.

I think Mission would have a better result if everything wasn't for either PSG or SCC.
It would be better to reproduce the noise with the PSG and the tones with the SCC.
One noise voice and two tone voices with the PSG and one voice with the SCC or the FM is also possible.
It is also possible to use the MSXs PSG for the three tone voices and the second PSG of the MFR for the noise generator.

For the FM detection:

However, several simplified versions were sold without Bios.

Well, as I was unable to find any comprehensive guide about using it, I have just created the following basic program on an emulated MSX2+

10 FOR I=0 TO 255
20 OUT (&H7C),INT(RND(1)*255)
30 OUT (&H7D),I
40 NEXT I

To my surprise, I was able to hear something ! Smile
