Hello again,

Well another small-great step more ... Thanks to our friend NataliaPC we have a new Beta available from the "MAKE TSX" Program. This new Beta does allow to generate a ".TZX" from a ".wav" but at the moment it only works with standard loads and of course there are things to improve. ;-)

So everybody is invited to use the Program and do tests, try to convert ".WAV" to ".TSX" and comment your opinions, errors detected, suggestions, etc, etc, etc.

Thanks manolito74, now the first functional version of makeTSX 0.4b is released.
Now extracts MSX blocks (TZX 1.21 #4B blocks) and write them in TZX format.

This version ONLY detects and extracts MSX blocks, so you need other utilities (like makeTZX) in order to extract the rest of "protected" blocks, and merge them using ZXBlockeditor.

I managed to make a TSX of Cluedo just by using makeTSX 0.4b if anyone wants to look at it.

Thanks for that tool Smile I gave this version a quick try with the "Laser Squad" WAVs I have here (that's an interesting case because this game is using Spectrum-like encoding on the tape). I'm getting lots of warnings and small 1KB-sized .TSX files.

Both files I used are available here:

Hi Louthrax and thanks for the feedback.

I tested your cleaned WAV file and I've extracted a 18kb TSX file.

Anyway the 0.5b version can only detect and extract blocks 4B (LOAD/BLOAD/CLOAD headers and data blocks) and if any other block type is found could detect false positives or not detect it at all.

In this game case you can extract the loader (2 x #4B blocks: header and data) but the Spectrum-like blocks are detected like bad #4B blocks.

Until detection of these special/protected blocks in next releases of the makeTSX you can try to extract them using makeTZX-like programs from spectrum scene and mix the MSX and non-MSX blocks with TZX editors...

Could you check if your 1Kb TSX file contain the loader?
