Wow! Looking really good. Any plans for in game music?
Are you running it on a real MSX?! oh man, you got to record a video of that!
(My own MSX is back on my parents place across the Atlantic
).
Yep, on my real Toshiba. I'll do a video this weekend, I'm working the next few days.
Really difficult game compared to Thrust on the C64, keeping that ball is HARD!
I'm playing on a HX-10 too using the .CAS file. Looks and plays good. I however am crap. Lol
How are you supposed to get past level 14? There is a door after the tank and two spikes opposing each other, that is closed, and I can not find a way to open it...
Thanks guys for all the comments!
@artrag thanks!!! nice trick! (I've updated it in the git repository )
@Wild_penguin oh, good catch! I accidentally modified map 14 before doing the release and broke it. It's fixed now if you redownload the rom that door should open automatically when you pick up the ball.
@valkyre I'm considering 2 alternatives: either in-game music (but I still have to come up with some that is not too annoying after listening to it for a long time), or just using all 3 channels for SFX (currently I have crappy SFX, since I only use 1 channel)
@Buleste I'd be really cool for me to see a video of it running in a real MSX!!!
Hey guys, I remember a couple of you managed to run the game in a real MSX. I'd be really excited to see it running, would anyone be willing to record a video?

Or better option: buy a real MSX and wellcome to the owners club
haha, I do own one! but it's back in my parents house in Europe (and I live in the US now ). I guess I'll have to take it with me next time I go visit them
I'd make a video, but don't have a decent camera (actually I only have my cell phone camera but I have nothing to hold it)!
I've run it on a HX-10, SVI-728 and NMS-2855. Works fine on all of them! (There was a bit of slowdowns on NMS-8255 on 60Hz, if I was shooting around in panic, but it could also have been caused by rom2com).
haha, a cell-phone made video of a few seconds would suffice
And yeah, I think you are right, there might be slowdowns on 60Hz computers (specially if there are lots of bullets in the screen). I plan to optimize the code a bit during my vacation time in August, and hopefully I can get rid of those slowdowns on 60Hz machines.
Am I allowed to add this game to my online game section on my site: http://www.file-hunter.com/MSX ?
