Although I like MultiMente, for many years I was missing a true commander-like file manager on the MSX and I found this one. I'm really loving it:

  • Cool, beautiful high-res interlaced mode; yet fast. Non-interlaced mode even faster.
  • File color based on type.
  • Progress bar when copying files.
  • Very easy to customize and configure, config file quite well commented in English.
  • File type association with program.
  • F1..10 keys configurable with multiple options.

I wanted to say sharksym thank you for such a great software.

Lastest version can be downloaded from here.

Nice but I feel kind of stupid.
The normal M does not work. But the R800 does but will only display interlaced (no matter the ini settings) and with the lite I cannot even execute a .com file...

[update]
Ah. I had to include the location of M in the path environment variable.... Crazy

You can disable the interlaced mode in the settings file. I use M already for a couple of years now. It's a very nice tool. especially because you can copy subdirectory Big smile

I did. But the R800 version somehow does not react to that setting in the ini file.

I'm able to use both, standard and R800 version without problems. However, you most execute the R800 from the same directory as it is the standard one.

I realy like this file manager, but i can't get it to run on a Philips 8250 without memory mapper.
All extra's are turned off in the .INI Sad

I'm trying to use the LFN function of the latest version (3.6 fixed), but my machine freezes when I press CTRL+L.
The help doesn't mention anything specific to use this functionality, I'm using a C2 (Nextor) with default settings and everything else seem to work.
So, is there something that has to be loaded/set/disabled, before enabling the LFN support?
Or is it a Nextor compatibility problem?

FontPack is supposed to be optional.

I used the M file manager from time to time. It could be very good software if it was not so little robust. It collapses at the slightest issue. I think the developer integrates too many functions that dependent on specific devices and, he seems not to test his software enough without these extra hardware. The latest version is the worst of all. M can crash just by copying files. I even think that is what corrupted the FAT of my partition.

Sofarun is much more robust. Even the good old Multi-Mente which has undergone a certain number of patch with more or less happiness is more robust.

I though Fontpack was needed for unicode characters, but it shouldn't be required for western/english.
@gdx:
Does the LFN function work on your machine? If it does, are you using Nextor?
