SuperImpose VDP under Vidéo it's possible?

Hi.

I have a little project with my 8280.

I want use the SuperImpose for upgrade the image of game like this factice movie.

I want just see this vidéo on the Game R-Type.

The pink color need be replace by translucy.

For the moment, the Vidéo it's allway under the VDP oO

Very interesting!
I also follow your project discussion on msxvillage, I have a question: is it possible to drive the external source device (ex. a dvd player) using one of the msx ports? (some dvd players have a rs232 on the rear)
Or is it necessary a custom interface?
This is because of the synchronization between game and video (play, pause, jump to chapter, etc.), and so it could become a modern "laserdisc" like.

you could do this in openMSX using the OSD elements. I've done experiments with this in the past.

that's a good question... openMSX supports laserdisc stuff but the MSX screen is over the overlay. So a scrolling OSD layer would be easier I think.

If I am not crazy, we see the image of VDP.

It is about the mode Superimpose. The movie (SAMMY) is the source of real time image and 8280 generate and applies these graphics(handwritings) by above. We thus see exclusively the image of the VDP.

I look as for the documentation or the examples simple on the special effects of 8280 and as on mode(fashion) VIDEO SET.

I think... YES! v9938 is continuously digitizing and it is very quick!
So, in the 80s, full screen videos streaming was possible on MSX.
But problem is... data trasfer rate from and to the mass storage...
This is the main reason because EVA format is not a full screen.
