When I was at high school I had a game forget it's name which was produced by Mr. Micro. It was on a cassette tape. To run it I had to type bload"cas:",r. One time it wasn't well read and after it started to run it stopped due to some kind of error in some line number. I realized that the game is programmed in BASIC! I was surprised! So because I was eager to learn game programming I re-bload it with bload"cas:" only without the ,r thinking that I can LIST it after it bloads but unfortunately whenever I try to list it the computer says Ok as if there is no BASIC program bloaded!
Now my question is:
How can I BSAVE & then BLOAD my BASIC programs like that game keeping in mind that I should know the start, end, & execution addresses for my program?! Also how can I know those addresses?!

Thank you.

A question about your two last posts : why here in a thread about the Wiki ???

I think it should be elsewhere on the forum.

I give up the wiki. I don't like the new pages with mixed categories (programmation, hardware lists, connectors description, etc).

Like this:
http://www.msx.org/wiki/index.php?title=RS-232_Interfaces

The wiki going to end up become a single page with everything.

Deleting links to existing Wiki pages before creating new pages is not the good way to improve the Wiki.

Besides, in the page you mention, it's normal to refer to RS232C Basic as most RS232 interfaces and modems come with that (on a included ROM). It remains a general information without any programming details and/or listings.

There are indeed interfaces without BIOS, and it's precised on this page. There are also a few Toshiba machines that have the RS232C bios without having the interface (it's also mentioned on this page).

It's also important to mention on a page about a specific connector/Interface which machines have this connector when there are many machines without this connector, otherwhise the lambda reader should be forced to read all the pages about all the machines before knowing which machines have this connector/interface.

In the case of the RS232C, this connector/interface is optional, it's obvious that most machines don't have it. So, these lists of concerned machines are very useful.

Of course, an external interface with the serial connector can be used, but it will occupy one cartridge slot, what is not always the best option for everyone.

Because of this RS232C aspect that makes it reserved in first time to only a few machines, it should be unreasonable to make 2 different pages, one about the interface, and one about the connector. I should be 'forced' to put the same list of concerned machines on two pages !!!

The problem is that I have spent a lot of time to organize and create categories but now the wiki comes back to origin. The created categories are meaningless. We meet again with the pages we need to make lists manually.

I think it is important to separate the hardware and programming as much as possible. People looking for information on equipment are not the same as seeking information for programming.

I also think it is better to separate information on the connectors. It is convenient to make a cable for example. That is a common situation.

This does not mean the problem I mentioned. It will be similar to the RGB connectors. This does not prevent continuing the work based on categories mixed as little as possible.

The goal is not to fill a maximum per page but to a Wiki with information easy to find.

We find this same mania in the forum. For example ce topic on MegaFlashRom.
http://www.msx.org/forum/msx-talk/hardware/big-megaflashrom-...
Result: impossible to find what we seek without take a long time.

My idea about a solid wiki is to have a page for each individual product. This does not mean that each individual product in a series of nearly identical products needs the same text and specs.

The individual pages could contain unique properties of the subject, no matter how few. Meaning that each such page could be quite small. In each such page there could be a link to a larger article with content that all these products have in common.

Exaggerated examples:

8250:

This is an MSX 2 by Philips.

8255:

This is an MSX 2 by Philips, identical to the 8250 but with an extra disk drive.

8280:

This is an MSX 2 by Philips, identical to the 8255 but with added digitising hardware.

-

The bold MSX 2 would be the general article. The bold digitising would also be a general article, and that Sony HPwhatshisname would also link to that article.

Also, I think that there shouldn't be manual lists, but merely categories which grow automatically when stuff is added and properly categorised.

But hey... Wink

Although I do not agree with some turns. I will continue to participate but moderately.
Thank Mars2000 for compromises and you effort on wiki (sometimes even too).
