Played through 5 stages and the thing just refuses to continue Sad

I found out the game doesn't like to save CPU state during the cutscenes, but I used quicksave in the regular levels and it worked, but then I loaded a CPU state on level 5 and it then refused to load the rest of the game. Anyone have any ideas concerning better images/way to get to level 6 without having to replay the whole thing again ?

What do you mean with CPU save state? Do you mean you use an emulator? Which one? If the game doesn't like it, it means it's a bug in the emulator...

Using Blue.

Just wanted to ask if anyone has an idea if the fault lies in the cpu saves (I had a similar issue with Rona and had to work around it), or with a bad 3rd disk.

Try it with another emulator and see if it's different. That will give an important clue.

Hmm, only ever realy used Blue. I know others, but have little experience using them.  Gonna try something I thought of though, and see where it goes.

Okay, played the whole thing through again without CPU saves. It appears that's not what causes it to hang.

Gonna try finding another version of Disk 3 to see if that's the problem.

Nag: it doesn't only save the CPU state, but the state of the whole machine Tongue

Have you tried it with another emulator ? Tried RedMSX, but that sort of doesn't go anywhere, and NLMSX overtaxes my CPU.

As I'm an openMSX developer, I'd use openMSX, of course. We just released 0.8.2.

However, I think you already proved that it's not the emulator's fault...

I put this into FMSX and it displayed the score and lives counter which it didn't in other programs....but the thing goes too fast for me to test it on any computer I own. Never versions have some option of syncing apparently, but not this one. Tried to find a version made after 1997 that is still old enough that no one uses it anymore, but that you can slow down.

Unless there's a way to do this with this one program as well.

Don't use such old emulators. openMSX and blueMSX are the most accurate, not very useful to try others, I'd say.
