I have just updated fMSX-Android to 3.5.2. This version fixes audio, settings, and touchpad input. It will now force the layout into landscape mode. Also added multitouch input (please, test).
If you have got a Gingerbread or better Android device, please, install and report any found problems here.
fMSX brings me good memories (like RuMSX). And I am still a fMSX registered user!
I've used fMSX (Unix) on the university, because it was the only MSX emulator for Unix at the time. I've also used it on my own (Linux) PC until 2002, when openMSX became accurate enough to work with.
The first time I saw an MSX emulator was also at the university. And it was indeed fMSX MS-DOS. That was on 1995! I reenlisted in the MSX scence years later, though (1997 iirc).
I think I started out with fMSX MS-DOS and MSX4PC
Shit, I just figured out fMSX will be 20 years old in 2014 =)
I started using it on the university around 1996, I think. I don't remember exactly. But I didn't use it for anything seriously. Just showing off that it works
Before that I did put MSX4PC on some PC's of friends. Just to see what happens.
the sound is good now; and it's better now it's forced into landscape mode. multi-touch does not seem to work though (diagonal works, but with a single press), or am I missing a setting to turn it on?
As for when I first used fMSX, it was the DOS port by Marcel de Kogel, back in 1997. I used it a lot, actually... my SVGA card back then (a Tseng Labs model) natively supported the 256x212 resolution.
Just found a bug in multitouch processing. The next update will have it fixed.
