So: A PC drive connected to a Shugart compatible floppy interface (which includes the one you have) should work as "drive B:", but many disk ROMs will not look for drive B: (/DS1) if A: (/DS0) is not present.

This means: you can connect up to 2 drives to the same cable, if one is jumpered as /DS0 and one as /DS1 (= just a regular PC floppy drive).

Problem is that many 'modern' floppy drives don't even have a Drive Select jumper / switch anymore (or even a solder point on the pcb). An easy fix for that is to do this PC style: use a cable such that when MSX interface activates /DS0 (A: ), PC floppy drive sees /DS1 (B: ) signal go active. And when MSX activates /DS1 (B: ), then /DS1 of a second floppy drive goes active. Now whether that would require a cable with the same twist as in PC floppy cables, or how /MOTOR ON signal should be handled in multi-drive systems, I'm not sure. But it's not a bad idea to mess with the cable rather than jumpers on a drive.

Start here: https://www.msx.org/wiki/MSX_compatibility_problems
Keeping [CTRL] key pressed on startup, or the infamous POKE -1,... (or removing it!) will get many programs to work. And:
Zanac 2, you mean Zanac-EX? That's an MSX2 program, which will not work on the MSX1 machines you mentioned.
Nemesis 1 from a floppy must be a cracked version, meaning it will require more RAM than (again) MSX1 machines have. So you need an MSX with big enough memory mapper (RAM) to run this cracked version. Usually that reads as: MSX2. Original Nemesis ROM works on MSX1 though.

Also try to separate non-working software from floppy drive issues! Floppy drive works if a) you can format a disk, b) you can read files on a floppy written by other MSX machine (or even PC), and c) other MSX or PC can read files your MSX wrote on a disk. Beyond that, software crashing etc is a different problem.

Try IT with BINLDR.

Otherwise, try your Rom dumps with SROM (a tool from Sofarom), ODO by Ramones & Manuel Pazos or ROMLOAD by YMD.

Nemesis can't be executed on an MSX 64kB. It needs a cartridge like Megaromflash, Megasram or Megaram.

Zanac EX is a game for MSX2. MEGA16 can execute it with 256kB.
