I want to know if HB-55 use above was successful, as when I was checking a peripheral for HB-75 's expansion port pins, I thought the pinout did not match the standard layout (I was only able to check power and gnd). What I want to know is the pinout of hb 55/75 expansion port (Japanese model, I don't own one of these machines.)

Has anyone built the cable to use FLEX with Daewoo machines? I have a CPC-300E and I think the connector has a swapped pinout compared to others but I'm not certain

Failing that, is there any other device to convert this Daewoo expansion slot into a usable MSX slot?

I think this slot is similar to the standard by signals, see here:

Thanks! Yeah, I guess the even and odd pins (in other words, the top and bottom rows) are exchanged? I wondered if anyone had built an adapter for it to use standard cartridges somehow, and wondered whether MSX FLEX (minus the edge connector adapter) with every pair of wires twisted would work

(also I think the opposite pattern of IDC connector can solve this, but I don't know where to find that)

If you solder the IDC at other side of cartridge part PCB, it will effectively mirror your pins. But then you have to make changes to 3d printed case obviously

I am embarrassed it took me so long to realize (and that realization came thanks to seeing another project) but you can use double-ended pin headers plus another ribbon cable to do this signal reversal

Has anybody made one of these and would be willing to share some pictures of their build internals? I made one a while back (thanks very much for the open source design!), but wasn't able to get it to work with my HB-F1XDJ. I decided to leave it alone, rather than potentially harm the hardware, but now I'd really like to get this working. I'll also post pics of my build here shortly in case anybody can see what's wrong (there's not much to it, I can only imagine it's the orientation of the cable connectors or similar).

On that note, I should have a few spare boards, in case anybody wants (provided I I didn't screw something up when ordering them from the fabricator).

Please post a picture if the assembled boards and the cable. Maybe I will find the reason of why it's not working...

Thanks, Alexey!

Here's an overview of the whole thing. The ribbon cable is about 30cm.

And here's close ups of each board with cable attached.

I'm not an expert at SMD work, having only done it once or twice before, but I was sure to test continuity, as well as the solder joints on the pins for the connectors themselves, so I'm hoping it's just a cable/connector orientation issue, but who knows, perhaps it is a matter of me having to go over the solder joints again.

Thank you again for taking a look.

Hmmm, the board for 60 pin slot was not designed to have that kind of connector. Please measure the continuity between pins 1, 2, 49 and 50 on one board and the same pins (1-1, 2-2, etc.) on the other board. I suspect that the upper and lower rows could have been swapped.

Also, I would recommend you to watch a few videos on SMD soldering and to re-solder the resistors on the board.

This type of connector was supposed to be used:
