Great Smile I have downloaded these but with only a USB floppy drive I have no way to write single-sided images on my PC. Will have to try my Falcon instead.

Edit: On a second thought - I can probably just insert dummy tracks for side 2 in the images and write it normally on my PC.

Ok, I'm struggling with the MSXDOS disk image. Nomatter what I do I can't produce a readable disk. No problem with the cp/m images, I extracted the actual disk image from the files and wrote them to disk on my Falcon. Can anyone help me to extract the files from the MSXDOS image?

assuming linux, just do a loopback mount of the .DSK file. Will work with both 360 and 720K images as long as they contain a FAT filesystem.

mkdir dsk
sudo mount -o loop filename.dsk dsk
cd dsk

It turns out that the disk image in question (MSXDOS-image in this archive: http://msx.hansotten.com/uploads/ffiles/svi738systemdisks.zip) is either broken or not an actual DSK image. There seems to be only six tracks in this image, and AFAICS there is no valid FAT in there.

This image (http://msx.hansotten.com/uploads/ffiles/SVI738systemdisk.DSK) is OK, so I finally have 80 columns in BASIC :)

Btw. the cp/m images in the archive mentioned above were OK. I don't have a PC with a proper floppydrive so I had to extract the actual image from the CopyQM files using this very useful tool:

http://www.pofo.de/P8000/misc/sources/tools/read_cqm.c

This tool produces a raw disk image (which is what DSK is) which can be written directly to a floppy.

The link is no longer valid.
Can someone who has the image or the files please upload the files somewhere for download?
I don't seem to be able to find the intact images or files anywhere.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks, will try when I get to my 738.
The .DSK file does not seem to exist in the mirror location. Hopefully the .DSK inside the ZIP is a working one.

Hmm, ok. You can browse the 'files' folder and see if you can find anything useful.
https://hansotten.file-hunter.com/uploads/files/

There is another "SVI738DISK.zip" listed. But I did not check out the content.

Too bad.. this file seems to be broken as well.

Disk-manager claims that "the backup copy of the FAT does not match. Update backup with original FAT?"
But regardless of answering "yes" or "no" the contents are nonsense.

The SMSXDOS.DSK file in the package is only 27kB unzipped, which is also a bit suspicious, as it should be an image of a 360K floppy.

The SVI738DISK.ZIP seems to be a dump of the disk ROM of the 738, not the system disk image.

So if anyone would have the good image somwhere on their hard drives, it would be greatly appreciated.
