Okay, I’ll dump 1MB, see if it is identical.
The Funet package includes also a dsk.
Content: MSX-DOS 1, demo written in BASIC and fonts (probably usable with the printer).
Okay, 1MB dump uploaded (use same download link). ROM starts with National internal mapper. I will create an extension xml and submit a pull request for openMSX.
The dumps are different and all the differences are in the second part. Funet ROM does not start with National mapper, so it proves your dump is better!
Not sure if this one includes the SRAM... probably does.
Edit: of course it does, it even has place for 2 AA batteries
The SRAM is a NEC D4364C-15L chip.
Proof of FS-A1mk2 having S1985 (request from Manuel):
A bit odd, machines with S1985 but no memory mapper. But yeah.
Probably the S1985 was first used to reduce costs without using all its features.
What I notice in MSX2 systems, if there is a possibility to upgrade the RAM on the mainboard the mapper was enabled even though the system was sold with just 64kB. Examples are the FS-A1F and FS-A1FM. I think there may have been a design guideline from ASCII.
