It is a bad idea to make a MA-20 clone with a V9958 since the majority of MSX2+ games (all?) do direct access to VDP.
Well, they exist. I don’t mind the idea, it doesn’t hurt anyone and is kind of neat if you plan to support this MA-20 clone in new software that uses or can use the V9958. And maybe Space Manbow will have smooth scrolling with it. If it works. But it’s already a hit-and-miss with these cartridges anyway, nobody will (should) buy it expecting it to just work.
I have never seen a CX11 with S3527, only with X3527.
I think the X3527 is the previous version of the S3527. The X3527 was in the first CX7M and YIS-604 commercial although these MSX of next generation had finally the S3527.

It is misleading because it gives hope to have an MSX2+ but it is not the case.

It's probably one of the rare case.

The Wiki page about the CX11 does not say the contrary:
* Chipset Yamaha S3527 (actually a X3527)
* The CX11 is a MSX1 with a Z80A from Sharp (LH0080A), a V9938 (MSX2) VDP and a MSX-Engine X3527 (silicon prototype of S3527) from Yamaha.
Not in the table.

That said the contrary.
.
" (actually a X3527)" !!!!!!!
This is not to say that the X3527 is a predecessor version of the S3527, not a prototype because it was used in all CX11 (or almost all).
See this discussion in the forum: https://www.msx.org/forum/msx-talk/hardware/silicon-prototyp...
Maybe some hardware experts can give their opinion about the used terminology.

Until now, it was unknown in Europe (and rarely mentioned on Japanese sites). It must be very rare.
Thanks for the link, I will update the Wiki :)
