Wow! 200?! nice!!
@ren: yeah! I think you are right. But don't worry, I note all the feedback, and I play around with implementing all the suggestions. But some I might then not include in the game precisely for what you said. As for selecting items with numbers, that's a good idea! I thought of that initially, but then forgot about it when I started thinking of making the game playable with joystick. But it would not hurt as an add-on for people that play with keyboard! If I've enough bytes for it, it's definitively in!

Make that 268 unique players, only today & yesterday...
And it could have been a bit more: Changed the network, so the site was down for over an hour and we have a new IP address, so some visitors might not reach (or have reached) file-hunter.com.

That's the idea.... We can give suggestions, but in the end it's your game :) :)
Yeah, as much as I'd like to see more user-controllable jumping in, I know that's not a universally desired feature -- it's just my own personal preference for games like this. It's on you to make this the game YOU want it to be, Santi, and whatever you end up doing, you're adding something cool to the fan scene in the end.

Make that 486, of which 406 unique ;-)
woah!!!
I hope they like it and don't get scared away by the annoying bees
Ok, I had a chance to incorporate all 3 modifications we were talking about, so:
New release, version 1.3: https://github.com/santiontanon/xspelunker/releases/tag/1.3
Changes:
- Fixed the bug that made the "machete autoselect" option to have the reverse effect of what was expected
- you can see 4 tiles lower when you crouch to plan for long falls
- you can select items using the number keys ("1" through "8")
Thanks again to everyone for the feedback!! I am not playing around with different jump control systems :)

LOL.. Still found some space in your .ROM for these updates? ;-)

Super!

not or now?
I really should play the game some more to give a good judgement (I don't allot myself a lot of time for gaming actually ) but jump-control could improve it perhaps, adding to the quality. Have you thought about side-jumping from ropes/vines directly to another one or on a platform?
haha, I meant "now" (I make that typo all the time for some reason!
)
And yeah, I found a few bytes (still have about 50bytes left now for some bug fixes if needed )
After seeing some bugs, and sweating a bit to get more free bytes, I managed to squeeze a few more options, so version 1.4:
- Fixed some bugs related to pushing boulders
- Added "X" and "Z" as alternative keys to "SPACE" and "M"
- Added an option to turn the in-game music off
Latest version: https://github.com/santiontanon/xspelunker/releases/tag/1.4
(and still haven't decided about the final jump air control, but I've one idea that might work :) )
