We are looking into the problem with FMPAC - some games don't detect and use the cartridge even if run from a different device. I will keep you posted.
We fixed the problem with FMPAC. Now it should work correctly. Please get the updated firmware from our repository:

Please test the new firmware, thanks.
oh My god, your support is amazing!
I tested it, and works fine. Now Aleste sounds !!!!!
Very thanks.
There was a question about DSK emulation on one of Spanish forums. The Carnivore2 cartridge already has the latest available Nextor (not Sunrise!) BIOS that makes it possible to emulate DSK images. You can download the additional system files and tools for your Nextor based bootable media here:
http://www.konamiman.com/msx/nextor/2.1-alpha2/Nextor-2.1-al...
Use the "emufile.com" tool to mount a DSK image and then restart your computer. After reboot the DSK image will be emulated as the primary disk drive and your computer will boot from it. To prevent the emulation from starting hold the '0' (zero) key while Nextor's media detection messages are being shown. Then you can delete Nextor's .DAT file in the root folder of your media to disable the emulation of that DSK image. As this is Alpha version of the Nextor BIOS, there may be a few glitches. But so far I have found only a few images that don't work correctly.
One cool feature is switching between the mounted DSK images in real time. You can mount a multi-disk game and switch the disks when a game wants it. For details read the "Nextor-2.1-alpha-2.txt" file from the Nextor's archive.
You can also use the "mapdrv.com" tool to instantly map a DSK image to any unused drive. You can access files on the newly mapped drive immediately.
More info about Nextor can be found here:
On the Yamahas that were made for Russia you need to hold the '9' key to disable the DSK emulation.
Thanks Alexey.
I unknow that Nextor can do it.
I hope I am not asking something that was already covered in this extensive development thread:
How does the Carnivore 2 work with sofarun 2.x/ 3.0?
Is it fully compatible?
Or partly compatible?
Can anyone tell me more?
I really like that this card also has FM-pac integrated, so I am wondering if I need to replace my Megaflashrom-scc-sd with a Carnivore2 cartridge....
Any plans for a licence for production in Brazil/ Korea/ Japan? It would be great if the cartridge would be available for MSX-ers all over the world!
I've sent the sources of the flashing and RAM loading utilities to the author of Sofarun. He may be adding support for our cartridge at some point.
We don't license the production of our cartridges. We give free permissions to produce them once we know the intention of the manufacturer/seller, the amount of units he wants to produce and after we see the quality of production and how the final product will look like. Our intention is to allow only quality copies of the cartridge to be produced and publicly sold. It's also important that the seller supports his customers if they have a problem with the hardware. Also there are some disclaimers that we share with the manufacturer that he needs to accept prior to getting the permission.
So if there are good hardware makers in Japan/Korea/Brazil, all it takes is to write to us (use my e-mail from the profile) and to state their intentions. We are not going to artificially limit the production in any way.
