I don't think things will be solved via written communication. Get on the phone or get together in real time to talk things out. It's the only way to make progress in situations like this.
Also, if it's technically possible, it would be nice to give him at least read-access. Although he won't like it, I guess, because (in his own words) he "won't be able to defend himself". Which is correct, of course. OTOH: no need to defend yourself if you don't get into this trouble. Just talk about MSX and you don't *need* to defend yourself.
And I can't help to agree with most of Rudi's post...

Now I have heard what happened, I tend to agree with the first part of my earlier post, and stopped agreeing with myself on the latter part (about having him back). I agree with MRC that this has gone several steps to far, and to quote a gay British failed actor "good riddance"

Now I have no clue what he did to get a perm ban :?

I wouldn't give too much details, but I have seen the deleted post of GuyveR800.

He was very angry about one of the MRC moderators, because it seemed him that it was a victim and not the aggressor in previous posts and that the MRC policies were unfairly applied.

As he was very angry, he has used an aggressive word with politic meaning.

I could give more details in a private forum but there's apparently no will from MRC to open such private forum ... Sad

Just a thought:
You could consider making a closed/private forum somewhere else, where you only give access to a selected group of MSX-ers. One one side, I can underatand that MRC doesn't want such a forum on their site. But I can also understand there is a need for such a thing. So why not open up something like that somewhere else? Smile

MrRudi, now that you've heard one side of the story, it's only fair to join #msxdev on the Rizon network to get the other side of the story before you can actually write things like that...

No Bifi it's not, the language/terms used, and comparisons made are inexcusable in whatever context, at least in the world I live in. Besides I hardly doubt the 'other side' will be more than "he started it", "but he called me that!" and "he did this!" which isn't really that interesting. The one-sided-story I heard but mostly the topic I read justifies a ban. Period.

In the real world, everyone that is prosecuted before a tribunal can defense himself or have advocates to defend him.

In the virtual world, especially on MRC, this right doesn't seem to exist, because there is no a private forum for that.

Do you see now where's the problem and why some exaggerated words must be understood in their real context ?

he can use a proxy or just another IP address?? they can't deny him read-access for a long time.
