It would be VERY hard on the bandwidth bill ^^;
Well, they could counter that effect by removing all the excessive tables crap and start using clean HTML with CSS Smile... Well, I *do* think it will matter a lot. Let's hope such a makeover is included in the big optimization thing Snout mentioned.

Of course it will matter a lot, but it also takes me HOURS and HOURS to change these things (and they will be changed, one day Smile. At the moment, I spend little time coding for the MRC. I think my time is better spent with content management at the moment. However, I'll try and see if I can get some 'development days' soon Wink.

if they accommodate the news for sections and do they make a page of news for each section and do they place in the main one an index to the sections?. because a user can be interested in hardware section only for example.

I vote for that.

If something is true, it is that to program is an art, and it is necessary to be inspired to make it.

Come on, don't be so negative about it. It's isn't every day this occurs... at least not this fast. It only shows the activity within the community and I for one love it. I agree it's sometimes hard to keep up, but that's what the archive's for and everybody has access to that.

To Flyguille - you can already have a look at a frontpage with just one news topic, right here. :)

Now that we're talking about MSX.org-improvements Big smile
What about being able to do email-subscribtion on a per-thread level ?
Now I always get an email when any message gets posted to any forum I'm subscribed to.
I would like to be able to specify which threads I want to receive notifications of.

Greetz.

I think per-thread notifications are going to be a no-go. Imagine 2000 users specifiying 6000 threads seperately. It's a lot of storage space which could very well be used for a lot of other stuff. Maybe a 'only new threads/Only threads I participate in' option is doable.

You might be correct Smile
But it is really annoying to receive like 20 (or more) emails a day of forum posts that I'm not interested in.
Especially now that MSX.org is becoming really really popular, this will probably get even worse in the future.

Maybe you could implement a system that remembers if somebody already received notice about a new post and only sends a new notice if you visit that topic again...
So you wouldn't get a notice for every reply to the topic, you would only get a new notice if in meanwhile you visited the post again.
