[enters the wall of shame by admitting he threw a NMS8245 away after more than 10 years of intensive use before breaking it down beyond repair]

Sold mine to buy another, which I sold and bought another etc. I've been upgrading a few times.
VG8020 -> VG8235 -> HB700-D -> Turbo R (I do still own that one)

sold it (nms8250).
then later, emulators got me back into MSX up to the point where I bought several others, of which one is left...which is also a 8250, albeit a modified one.

Cool, I still have my first MSX computer, and with the exception of the disc drive it's working! Tongue Well, TBH I bought it (8235) only 1,5 years ago, but it IS my first one Wink

Yes, I still own my first MSX computer. That trusty old VG-8235 is already 20 years old, and it's still working. However, it's not very original anymore: doublesided drive, 256 KB RAM (+128 KB VRAM), MSX2+, and it's some kind of greenish yellow (don't ask). It once was not working anymore. My brother in law removed a condensator, and now it's working perfectly (without the condensator)

Still got my first MSX, a CX5M. Everything except the video/tv output is working. Without a picture its not that fun to use though. I hope to repair it eventually.

My first MSX was a Goldstar FC200, I blew it up by inserting a Disk Drive ROM into incorrectly (don't ask me how!!)

Still it was soon replaced by a Sony HB75, the disk drive also survived - all was not lost! Smile

I started out with a 8020, later bought a wavy70FD (2+). The only 60Hz capable TV we got back then was my parents. So I got creative and (without removing it from the 8020) hotwired the TV modulator to the wavy70FD (young and reckless Smile ) after a couple of moves some wires got crossed and fried the modulator of the 8020. The cursor keys were also pretty wrecked for playing al the hyper and olympic sports Smile So I tossed it.

OneChipMSX could be a nice replacement for my beloved MSX2 (Brazilian Gradiente's Expert MSX with a Carchano's MSX2 upgrade cartridge).
