Wasn´t it the Commodore disaster. In the C= scene they are hated until today...

C64 was during the last Oss fair iirc. I believe I still have the F1-key somewhere. Murdoch

You guys can redeem yourselves by purchasing that C64 mini when it becomes available.

...but don't destroy it afterwards.

Personally I am hoping for an "MSX mini" though. Can someone finally sort out the licensing issues?

Seriously though, I already have 2 models of the C64DTV, and now this is coming, where are the (semi-) official MSX retro consoles?

Isn´t there this Zemmix FPGA? It got a reasonable price and also could used as a gaming console.

I should still have the Return key somewhere, unless it got lost during the migration to Norway.

Yes, it was a vw0030.
As far as I remember one of the guys brought it here with hope to sell it and be rid of it. This didn't happen.
We were traveling by train so everything extra gets very very clumsy.

I remember how very utterly boring this fair was. It was still in a sportshall, but just half of the booths were manned and most visitors were actually (related to) booth holders. You could shoot a cannon there without hitting anyone. This cabaret made me enjoy the day a bit. But not enough to stay in the scene.
That day we decided to just quit. We always put a lot of work in our stuff. There was less and less interest in what we came up with. Obvious, since there were hardly any visitors and download counters on the internet were non existing. We felt like our efforsts didn't matter to the scene anymore and the feeling became likewise as the scene seemed dead.

Seven years later our departure turned out to be a hibernation because the leftovers of the scene were united by the internet. I'm quite convinced that without the internet, MSX would be dead and forgotten. This hobby is a real hobby, but not much fun when you're alone.

I can imagine.

In the "old days" I only visited a fair once, in Tilburg (maybe it was 1994, since Eggbert was there). It was still large then (at least it was to me). Not too long after that though I stopped using MSX and that was it until I discovered emulators on the internet and after that the online community.

...and those printers were really expensive originally!

I know, but not anymore in 1997 where people did their printing on a pc. This one was brought to Zandvoort to sell for 10 or 20 guilders and not to be taken back home.
Back then printers were around 600 guilders and an ink ribbon about 25 guilders. That's 24:1. Lately a printer is 50 euros and new (brand) ink about 30. That's 1.6:1. Today many good printers get thrown away because the ink cartridge went empty Running Naked in a Field of Flowers

I also still have several MSX printers as double. I don't even dare to bring them to a fair... no one is interested in them anyway. If you are, do let me know!

Indeed, don't bring those printers to a fair... they're not safe there!

I admit I have ditched a printer too (not msx, some cheap one) because the ink was more expensive than the printer.
