well
dhau is right though

one cant be sniped if you set your msximum (intended typo) price WAY before you actually start bidding

prices go up because you let yourself be driven by the i-wanna-have-it virus

anyway

best strategy againt these type of persons is using an ebay sniper like Baygenie
DONT "follow" the item on ebay so the seller cant see how many persons are intrested in the item
and then let Baygenie bid the price you set in the last few seconds

And again, I already did all that. Dhau assumes he is the only one that thinks about it.

I mean, if you go on Ebay and don't have a top-price in mind you are a fool.

And I placed my bid just 8 seconds before the auction ended when there was no othere bids and I did it like this because I know he's done this stuff in the past. You may say I was trying him, if you will.

The main thing is taht dhau and you, to name a couple, are trying to walk circles around somebody who is comitting fraud. And what we should do is STOP him from commiting it.

Actually i think Dhau said something a little different, more like "you bunch of cheap stupids pointing fingers to an innocent man". But that's already ignored. Wink

You are absolutely right in one thing, Soukasen uses heavily the "I want!" card. You see, he has some excellent items and he knows it. So every time he sees someone is really interested in something he just keep pushing. And when two are interested it is a pretty scaring sight. I mean, he pushed a Magical Tree to US$ 310! (I can check The URL later at home, if you want to see him in action).

Again, i guess you are missing the point here: We are not complaining about hight prices (i do have paid quite some money in my gems, believe me) - we are complaining about a prick that has been scamming the community for at least two years.

You were there too? Smile

Anyway, the really nice thing on this particular case is that the high bidder was our little friend m***r. :lol:

Hahaha, no, I wasn't bidding. But every time a Magical Tree pops up one is curious about how things will end. Big smile

I understand dhau's point as well: it's not a big problem if you don't increase your bid after setting your max. You'll never pay more than your max. So, no problems then, right?

Now picture this:

there is an item that you want, with an initial bid of $10. You go ahead and think "hm, OK, i'm willing to pay up to $20 in that" and place such a bid.

The seller (and not any other bidder) pushed it to $18 and stops.

So you've paid less than you expected but STILL got robbed.

See? That's the problem with such seller.

how about this;

create a fake ebay account, use your orignal account for the first low bid, place an other bid with the fake (like 5 times the initial bid) and wait for the japanese fish to bite, then increase the bids and let him bite some more. in the end he is satisfied with the way too high price but youre fake account will never be paying nor answering his mail, object gets sold to soukie's fake guy but soukie needs to pay his sellers fee to ebay. if this happens to a lot of his items at once then he is in need of some money = paybackEvil

yes, you want that magical tree, so do I. but money does not grow on trees nor do I swim in it..... so it is understandable that this guy pisses you off when robbing you

you can also look at it the other way;
he wants top dollar for his stuff ,doesnt everybody want that?
his methods a questionable to say the least,but on the other hand
you dont HAVE to buy his stuff

that being said
you cant do anything againts it ,so live with it
