SD Snatcher saving on Carnivore2?

Hello,

I know that questions about SD Snatcher saving have been answered a lot here. I have been trying to research to see if this can be done on the setup I have. Maybe someone can help?
I am a bit new to the MSX scene. I purchased an SX-1 from 8bits4ever and also a Carnivore 2 cart.
Everything seems to work great except the disk games.
First I was having issues where I could not swap the disks. I checked around and someone said the fix for this was to concatenate the disk files. For example
From a windows computer in CMD - Copy /b sdsnatch1.dsk+sdsnatch2.dsk+sdsnatch3.dsk sdsnatchall.dsk
So that file outputs one single .dsk file from the 3 combined.
When I launch the single combined sdsnatchall.dsk file from sofa run it seems to see all the dsk images at load.
So I think that is the correct way of doing it?
Anyways. I still cannot save. It asks for the user disk. I tried to make a user.dsk file form a floppy image program in Windows, but it did not help. I thought it was because it was not formatted. I then created another disk image using the diskmanager program from RuMSX (I believe). I made a new blank disk image from that and saved it as user.dsk.
I then combined all together with
Copy /b sdsnatch1.dsk+sdsnatch2.dsk+sdsnatch3.dsk+user.dsk sdsnatchall.dsk
It still does not see the user disk. Does anyone have any ideas for what I might be doing wrong? Do I need to format the image I created with the Diskmanager program in MSX DOS before I combine it with the other disks? I did choose MSX-DOS boot sector for it when creating. Is it just not possible to play disk games on this setup? Are there any ways to manage disks on either the SX-1 or Carnivore 2 that I might not be aware of?

Any help would be appreciated.

I also have just tried loading up SDSnatcher on an emulator. I was able to save to the user disk for that. I then made a new concatenated file using that user.dsk
Copy /b sdsnatch1.dsk+sdsnatch2.dsk+sdsnatch3.dsk+user.dsk sdsnatchall.dsk
I loaded that up on the SX-1 / Carnivore 2 and it still can't see the user disk with that save on it.
Maybe multi disk games are just not possible on this setup?

SofaRun will create an empty user disk automatically. You need the 3 game disks concatenated, these will be available under.keys 1, 2 and 3. The created user disk (it will be deleted if nothing was written to the disk) you can access with the 4 key. The game disks will be read only by default, the user disk will be writable.

When you say "under keys" what do you mean. Are there hot keys to change the disk that is in use? I was trying to see if that was a possibility as well, but could not find anything.

I found a way to do it. I read the sofa run txt that is on my CF card. It simply says that you can hit keys 1 through 9 (and yes; more than that even) to load a specific disk. For whatever reason the keyboard does not want to seem to do it alone, however, it did work by holding the buttons on the controller. I also notice my caps lock did flash on the keyboard when using the controller to switch disks. Thanks a lot for your response. It is a relief to get this figured out.

The keys do work only during disk access. So if the game asks to insert disk 2 it is not active reading the disk, it will start reading when you press space (or a button on the controller). So the way to do it is push the right key and space at the same time (space works in SD Snatcher, other games may use a different key).

The flashing CAPS light is Nextor’s way of indicating the CF (or SD in MFR) is being accessed.
