The funny thing is that micromancers and the msxvr team have no issues with each other, from what I saw, they were happily working with each other to find the issue (which they did, and as far as I understand the issue is fixed now)... oh well...

yeah, it seems like sometimes some people is just waiting for an excuse to troll on social media. This is why we can't have nice things.

Terrible news.
I have bought both WoW and Suite Macabre from them and they were very professional and quick. Really sad to see them go.

Really sad news. For every person getting a fix out of hating there are 1000s who really appreciate all the effort people are still putting in even today in developing msx software and hardware.. Thank you Micromancers.

There was some fight on Twitter with a user who accused micromancers with one thing or another about the way the built their cartridges and the issues with msxvr. It was pretty nasty and sad. I have to say I that understand micromancers' decision. After all the work, time and emotion put into their games, to have such a nasty fight with users that were supposed to be enjoying the games can be very discouraging. We do this for fun, dedicating part of our lives to create these games, and the last thing one would expect is for people to come up with these types of attacks... really sad to see micromancers go...

Some people just don't know how to do feedback.

They're aggressive, imposing, and forget that these are homebrew projects that only come out with a lot o effort and sacrifice. Nobody here is making any significant amount of money from projects for the MSX.

It's really hard to keep the motivation after such episodes.

You should have seen my mailbox Evil Evil Evil
I sometimes wonder what drives people like this. Perhaps frustration, perhaps out of some undefined gain. MSX can be lucrative and that leads to jealousy, envy and even more attacks from the ones who regret not doing this themselves.
It doesn't matter what you do, there are always those who don't like your ways. Therefore we must feed each other with love and not envy. Unfortunately the world does not work like that. No matter where you go there will always be a person who will mistreat you and crawls deep into your hart trying to eat you from the inside out. (easier said than done) just ignore them. Let them crawl lonely in the snakepit from which they came.

I wonder why you would decide to quit over a *single*(?) flaming user? (And apparently ignore the whole positive rest..) Must be more reasons then?

The problem is that toxicity is accumulative. That "single" flaming user probably was the last straw.

We've seen this happening many times here on the last decades, haven't we? This is why we have to stay away from toxic people.

If there are issues on MSXvr but it works on all/most classic MSX machines, I'd say: probably an issue of the MSXvr. Emulation is not perfect. But anyway, too late and no use to repeat (?) a discussion that is probably already done.

To provoke a conflict for that is stupid. Developing a computer is not easy. Compatibility problems are inevitable and take time to fix. It took several years for the 1chipMSX to be roughly correct. Some issues have still been corrected recently. It's such a shame to quit just for those few people who have a hard time figuring this out. These people just deserve to be ignored. By stopping, it is the others who are punished, not these few people.

I must admit that I didn't know about this Wizard of Wor version for MSX. Is it a port licensed by Midway?

Would that really surprise you if it isn't? (as is the case for most homebrews)
