Hi, does anyone have these magazines as DSK file? I can only find DMK (whilst DSK of vol. 0 and 3 are available). Maybe they have not been 'converted' yet?

Are you sure there is no copy protection? This is probably the reason why it's dumped with .DMK.

If there is no protection, just follow this old manual from Manuel:

Quote:

If the DMK does not contain any copy protection, you can also convert it with openMSX:

1. insert DMK image in MSX with disk drive, drive A
2. open the console (F10)
3. type: diskanipulator savedsk diska /path/to/my.dsk

If this gives an error about sector not found, the DMK image cannot be converted to DSK without losing some content (i.e. it will break the software on it, like a copy protection trigger).

I am pretty sure there is a protection on some of those, possibly 1. By the way Saurus Lunch goes up to at least 6.

I think there is protection indeed (although there is no error in openMSX when savedsk is used), but I think 1 and 3 would have had it as well. I looked into it and they all load a sector from disk in the autoexec.bas. The sector is an alternative boot sector (with Quinpl appearance). The boot sector is then executed and on the DMK it continues but on converted DSK it does not. On Vol. 0 it also continues (so I assume protection was removed).

Actually if you copy the alternative boot sector over the original boot sector the magazines boot much faster, skipping the autoexec.bas and loading of the second boot sector.

Than we can add 5 and 6 to undumped list.

Hi, I am reviewing some old disks and I rescued the images that brought the Saurus Lunch 5. I have searched and I saw this post, I would like to have the first 3 volumes.
Here is a link for the Saurus Lunch 5 that took two floppy disks,

You should be able to find them here.

@MDDRED: Could you try to make a copy of Saurus Lunch with DMK-Extractor? The disks don't work in the current rip you've made.

I copied the image files to the SD of the MFR and from there to the PC, I put them in zip and uploaded them, to view them I use recoilwin . If you want I can try with the DMK creator, but the link doesn't work. I would also have to learn how to use it because I have never used it. On the PC I don't have a physical floppy drive, or usb, in case I need it. If you tell me the way I try.
DMK Creator the link doesn't work

@MDDRED: try https://msx.org/downloads/utilities/disk/dmk-creator or else a dsk image (so we can try to remove the copy protection).

I have tried to use the msxdos diskcopy to copy, it seemed to have copied and when loading, it stays in the basic part and does not run, I understand that it is protected.
I downloaded the DMK and formatted a disk and ran the DMK from the MFR.
1 problem is not compatible with the TurboR, I bought it in the MRC forum, I took out the external floppy drive Sony, it does the first step, read the disk, but in the second step when it asks for the drive to write the data, it does not write to the floppy drive, it stays in that step.
Wrong configuration of the DMK to make the copy?
Format 80T-Double / Disk-->File / Access type: w.digital FDC / It detects 512Kb
type: memory mapper / slot: 3-0
I must look for another approach to make an image from a MSX maybe something can be done with MFR?
