TRCAS - Able to mute the sound?

Hey all,

I finally managed to score myself an FSA1-ST turboR last weekend, and I've been having a blast with it all week. It really is just a superior machine to my FSA1-WX all around!

The one thing it lacks, though, is a dataport for a cassette player, and I have a considerable number of tape games in my collection, so I was mildly perturbed by that... until I discovered TRCAS! Which I was able to get working quickly, and while the lack of a remote function is a bit unfortunate, it's a small price to pay for all the extras the tR has to offer.

However, the one slight annoyance with TRCAS is that it plays the tape loading noises over the speakers, since it uses the tR's microphone-in port -- which isn't a huge deal on its own, but some tape games have audio samples or music that begin playing IMMEDIATELY when the loading finishes, yet since there's no remote feature, the sound of blank tape static pretty much drowns out any audio that plays until you hit Stop on your tape player.

It dawned on me, though, that there might be a way around this! I don't think the MSX *needs* to play the tape-loading audio over the speakers in order to properly load the data -- the data is being fed into the system through the mic-in jack either way, after all.

So my question is, is there a way to mute the audio from the mic-in jack (a BASIC command, perhaps?), and would doing so disrupt the ability for TRCAS to do its thing?

Not a huge deal if there isn't, but I feel like there should be, so I figured I'd ask and see if anyone here knew of any such method.

Bump. Just checking if anyone has any answer here. I feel like there must be a way to echo-off the mic input on this system, without disrupting its ability to be processed...
