on the BiFi's page about Game Masters is a statement:
If you want use The Game Master 2 with Vampire Killer, Goemon or Hinotory (Firebird) do not reverse the slot order
so there might be some incompatibilities with the slot configuration if the game is put in extended slot, too

Thanks. The games are in non-expanded slots. Galious doesn't work either.

Just tried this on openMSX and GM2 + MoG works just fine, tried several different machines and even with GM2 in slot 1 and MoG in slot 3 with a Philips VY0010 in slot 2 (Used a Yamaha CX-5 machine with 3 external primary slots).

Sounds like you found yourself a bug (in the C2 implementation that is)...

Maybe try with GM2-PACK as used in MFR. Also MFR seems to load MoG as K5 which you could try as well...

Thanks! Tried the patched GM2 and it didn't work. Just hangs. Will try to force K5 mapper on K4 games in C2, maybe this will work.

Nope, that didn't work. GM2 doesn't start the game. GM1 doesn't detect most of the games in emulated slot. Back to the drawing board...

Now... I've been reading this thread and in the end it is said (and most of us knew I guess) that you cannot play the Snatcher translation if your main memory mapper and the SCC are in subslots of the same primary slot. So after reading your accomplishments and that thread I was wondering, would it be possible to do the following:

Suppose you have an MSX with C2 in slot 1 and empty slot 2. Could you put RAM, IDE in subplots of slot 1 and the SCC+ (just the sound chip) in slot 2? Such a config would make it possible to run the English translation of Snatcher with JUST a C2!

It would be even cooler if you could put the sound chip and 128kB RAM (like the SCCPLUS.RCP) in slot 2 and make the memory mapper smaller, that way I guess the Konami Game Collection disks and original Snatcher / SD Snatcher disks should also work on C2.

Unfortunately this is not possible. You can't combine SCC+ with IDE. SCC+ as well as IDE work only in the master slot. What you can do is extract Konami games from the disks with SCC+ option and then use those game ROMs in the emulated slot of Carnivore2 while enabling SCC+ in the master slot.

Maybe I don't understand, but let's say in C2 default mode, you have IDE in a subslot. That works fine, so what do you mean it has to be in a master slot? Do you mean it needs subslot 0?

Anyway what I am proposing is put IDE, FM-PAC and RAM in 1 slot (like in default mode but without the SCC chip) and put the SCC in 'virtual' primary slot 2. Same as how you put GM2 in actual primary slot of C2 and MoG in virtual primary slot, at least that is how I understand this new dual ROM feature is working...

Master slot (equals to the Carnivore's physical slot) by default has 4 subslots - SCC, IDE, RAM and FMPAC. The slave slot is emulated and its number is equal to the next empty slot in the machine. This slot can emulate K4 and K5 mappers as well as the planar mode (up to 32kb ROMs), besides SCC can be "moved" to the slave slot. If you use a dummy K5 ROM in the slave slot to move SCC away from the master slot, you may be able to run DSK images from the master slot and the game could use SCC from the slave slot. Theoretically of course. I haven't tried this yet. I need to discuss this with our engineer.
