Hi, all, today i've found a Sony HB-10P machine in a basement.
The machine appear to have the VDP broken.
my idea was to buy a F18A to make it working again and get rid of original VRAM chips.
However, after a quick look, i've found a very bad thing.
The machine is one of those with the INFAMOUS TOSHIBA (ARGH!!!) VDP !
Beside that to add insult to injury i've found a different pinout.
My question is: would ne possible, with a small adapter board to use the F18A instead of the original VDP?
If the problem is only a different disposition of pins it would be possible to make a small adapter.
Or are there some subtle issues?
thx.

Why are you certain that the VDP is dead?

no output on video signals, no activity on address bus. I do not see any RAS signal.....
the clock is however fine.

That may not be enough to point at the VDP. It could be a bad RAM, ROM or even some logic chip. Did you check all the voltages? Did you try to boot with RAM expansion or game cartridge?
