if someone runs into the same problem, I succeeded in reflashing by using the 32bit quartus software on a windows machine instead...

Hello Alexey:
Could you add some option in the Bootblock to activate the z80b (6MHz), or turbo speed for the panasonic a1wx/fx/wsx? It is an interesting option so that you can put software with greater speed. Thank you!

Sometime ago I tried enabling the turbo mode via out commands and the cartridge didn't like it, but maybe a newer firmware can fix that?

Alexey:
Sometimes I have problems with the CF, for example I load a game and then press reset and the CF would not boot anymore.
The access light is on, but the only way to boot again is to turn off the machine or remove-reinsert the CF and reset the MSX.
I seem to recall that someone else had the same problem but with another device (Beer?), but I can't find the relevant posts anymore... Could it be specific to some CF media? I'm using a Transcend 2GB card at the moment.

Implemented. But not tested on real hardware so USE ON YOUR OWN RISK! I have no idea how the cartridge will work with these modes yet.

The Turbo mode or R800 mode status is saved into the configuration EEPROM and the previously set mode is enabled on the boot block's startup. To disable this feature, keep Backspace button pressed after reboot until the boot block's menu appears.

Tested on Turbo-R. The mode switching works ok, the games that start without reset work well, but those started after reset don't. The configuration entries don't work either. We need to look deeper into the problem.

The current mode (z80, turbo, r800) is now shown in the status screen. The boot block is updated at the temporary location.

Tested on my Panasonic A1-WX MSX2+. The turbo mode gets enabled and most of the stuff works, however IDE stops working - the CF card is no longer detected in turbo mode. Too bad our engineer doesn't have any of those machines to reproduce the problem on his end. But we will try to figure something out. So far the boot block stays in Beta version.

Does the carnivore2 feature its own crystal, so the SCC/FM do not get out of tune on turbo Z80 machines?

Yes, for music we have a separate on-board clock generator. But no idea how the cartridge will work with Z80 at 7 MHz. Most likely there will be anomalies. Does someone have such an upgrade to test?

Well, I am in doubt whether to release the boot block with Turbo/R800 mode support into the public repository. When these modes are enabled, not all features of the cartridge work correctly. These problems are unlikely to get fixed by the firmware. Comments?
