"The OR Color" wiki page, how can we help improving it?

https://www.msx.org/wiki/The_OR_Color is a great reference, but some useful and important information is missing there (like a brief technical explanation how "or" color works, and where/how to access it writing on the vram, or perhaps linking to wiki pages like https://www.msx.org/wiki/COLOR_SPRITE$%28%29 )

i guess that new wiki pages (linked from there), like https://www.msx.org/wiki/The_OR_Color_-_A_deeper_analysis , would be great for analyzing better the specific sprites situation on more games (like Undeadline, Hinotori, etc.), and how the "or" colours are blended (like http://i.xomf.com/jxnpr.png or http://i.xomf.com/gwcrb.png )

but when i try to login on the wiki page for editing it, i get a "You are not authorized to access this page." message - any clue about?

thanks! :)

It's a bug that appears (?randomly) after some time without visiting the Wiki while being logged in.

The solution is: go to the home page, log out, then log in, and finally go to the Wiki.

I would suggest to add examples to the BASIC command reference (sprites etc), and link to that article from the OR article. The OR-wiki is more about the idea and some analysis, I think the BASIC command rerefence chould/should be about implementation.

Same for me but if I go back to Home page to input my ID and pass after I am authorized to edit the wiki pages.

i wrote something at https://www.msx.org/wiki/The_OR_Color#Brief_technical_inform... - i guess it’s useful enough - my concern was that i struggled a lot finding such information connected enough for start trying something - please let me/us know what you think

as you might see there, i tried to add some more illustrative examples about how this sprite boolean colour blending works - and i also added there an msx-basic example for trying out how "or" color works! :)

That's a lot of lines for something illustrative along the lines of:

10 COLOR,0,0:SCREEN 5
20 SPRITE$(0)=STRING$(8,CHR$(&B11111111)):SPRITEON
30 PUTSPRITE0,(100,100),4,0 ' blue
40 PUTSPRITE1,(106,100),2+64,0 ' green
50 A$=INPUT$(1)
60 END

i see the point - my idea was providing something based on one of the sprites shown above in the wikipage, having a visual relation of the bitmap dumps on the "&b" data, the colours used in each line and each sprite, etc. - if the code is that large, perhaps it should be linked to somewhere else, like other wikipage, or a pastebin link?

@wolf_ , i added your code above there on the wikipage as well, with an msxpen link for trying it out! Smile
