Konami samller boxes boxes

Does anybody know which konami games excist in smaller boxes like the european Nemesis 3.
I happen to have game master, maze of galious and F1 spirit in a smaller box and I've seen pictures of a smaller versions of Vampire killer and penguin adventure. So it looks like there are smaller versions of the RC 743 - RC 753 games. Can anyone confirm ? So is there a smaller version of metal gear and usas aswell ?

And does anyone know what the original box of metal gear 2 is. Mine is, like most versions i've seen, the same as the sd-snatcher version with a cardboard insert to hide the disc storage space and only show the cart at the bottom. But I have also seen version where the cart is in the middle without cardboard insert (like the space manbow box for instance).

Add Green Beret to the list. It came also in a small box.

Too bad the actual game (conversion) was not that good

Yes, indeed. Green beret is in a special box which opens on the side. I always wondered why they made these smaller boxes. The ones I own have other screenshots on the back and also the art looks different. So it's more then just a smaller version of the box.

Don´t know if they thought about this, but smaller size = less materials needed = less money needed to produce. Also, smaller size = less money needed to ship more games around the world.

Metal Gear, Vampire Killer, King's Valley II, Nemesis II, Nemesis 3, The Maze of Galious, Penguin Adventure, F-1 Spirit, Game Master and Salamander all got the "PAL mini" treatment. These 10 are the complete set for all we know.

I have USAS in a small cardboard box. The box is barely bigger than the cartridge.

Does your copy come with a black plastic inlay or a transparent one?

I seem to remember it was black but I have not seen the box in a while. Must be in storage somewhere.

If it's black, it's not one of those really small boxes like in the picture above.

Regular European releases already came in small boxes. But Konami re-released some of their titles into even smaller boxes, with different box art and a transparent plastic inlay.

Nemesis III only came out in the smallest type of boxes though. That one didn't get a "regular" European release.

Here's a picture showcasing the differences: in the bottom row you can see from left to right the Japanese release, the "regular" European release, and finally the "mini" European release of F-1 Spirit, The Maze of Galious and Game Master.

The minis are only slightly smaller, but they have a different box art in most cases. And, as I said, come with transparent plastic inlays.

I guess these versions where produced in limited edition, since you rarely see them on ebay. And if they do, the prices go up the roof. Although, currently there is a japanese metal gear up for 1000 euro's.
@cklayman: Just curious, can you confirm that your usas is the mini box and not the regular european one?

This is my picture! and my collection :)
And this is the complete set of "mini" releases. (Green Beret is a diferent one, not the same box, it is in a special box which opens on the side ).

For me, this "mini" releases are more espectacular than normal european releases.
