The game I mean has no RPG elemets, outside the dungeons, there is no strategic/turn of battle
the strategy consists in finding the best path for reaching the final volcano with the two dragons.
As i told yu sone mountaions has some objects, and only a given object allows you to pass a given
kind of barrier (boat/river, axe/forest,key/door etc.etc).

The maze are very cleverly generated by an alghorithm, also the "startegic map" is generated
each time you play you get a completely new game.
note that in order to reach the last mountain (the volcano) you need to pass from 5 to 8 "normal" mountains
The difficulty level (actually three) regulates
1) the speed of the monsters
2) the number of arrows you find and the frequency they occur in the dungeon

The light/dark sistem is a key element.

If you walk normally you discover/can see a monster when it is so close that you cannot kill him
without being hit. The surprise effect creates expectation and atmosphere, at each step you
ask yourself if something is going to attack you.
The clever player can "read" the hints and the clues left by monsters like footsteps or bones on te ground,
noise in the dark, and so on. The cleverer player is able to uderstand in which direction the monster is
by observing two o more clues on his path.
The monster clue system joint with the dark/light maze and monster surprise attack is the CORE of the game.

About the lightning system, the implementation can be very easy, depends on the vdp screen you want to us

I always wanted to see if the SCUMM engine of LucasArts could (partly) be ported to turboR+GFX9000+Moonsound. Even if the result was to be dead slow, playing Day of the Tentacle or Sam'n'Max hit the road on MSX... priceless Wink

Programming SCUMM is doable on g9k, even on sc5 with some artistic restrictions.. but the main issue is: who's going to draw all of it?

Just port SCUMMVM to MSX....

What I like to see:
- a new pinball game like Pinball Fantasies (for GFX9000 or VSCREEN maybe?)
- a SCUMMVM/Larry kind of RPG
- a good new racing game
- a Dune 2 like game for MSX (Paragon got quite far with DOME...)

-9 on the new pinball game, SCUMMVM port and a decent RTS (Dune 2 etc)! Big smile

wolf_ the idea behind SCUMM for GFX9000 would be using the original art from the original games, from their original CD-ROMs (and, if needed, using a conversion script to offer things in easier-to-chew-on chunks to the MSX). Just as SCUMMVM, you'd need the original games on order to be able to play them tho.

I highly agree on the pinball as well.

That's my selection too (Pinball in SC5).
I would add:
- A Turrican clone
- MSX2 version of Green Beret (love the game, hate the MSX version)

and a modern version of some "classics" like Galaga 88 or a port of Videopac's Crazy Chase and Terrahawk.
