is it a problem of memory or even more a problem that DSM1 can handle only one drive?

When a game or application needs more free memory, it hangs after booting or does not work for some features when two drives are enabled. So, it's a problem of memory.

When both drives are accepted, it can happen that an application can't work with the second drive. In this case, it's missing feature!

That's odd, as far as I know, the MSX always reserves memory for 2 drives, even if you don't have the 2nd one connected. This can only be prevented by pressing CTRL when booting. So I wouldn't expect it to make any difference to have 1 or 2 drives connected to that CX5M.

Yep. MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD does all that, and it runs Nextor so it also supports MSX1.

Thanks,
What the hell is Nextor? It sounds like the "hell-dog".....

Nextor is “An enhanced version of MSX-DOS, the "official" MSX disk operating system, featuring native support for FAT16, an improved device driver system and partition management, amongst other things.”

And amongst those other things, it also works on MSX1.

p.s. Nice MSX1-focused MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD tutorial

ok, I saw the YouTube Video of introducing SCC+ just this Moment. I have to think before I wrote.........
It seems it´s a good idea to by those Thing. Hate transfer data from my Laptop to a DELL Desktop, the only one who has a functionally diskdrive that can write older formats. And after that use my rebuild Sony Diskdrive to hope the Disks are right for MSX.....

Hello everyone.

I have a Yamaha YIS503II which is an MSX1 Home computer. Since this computer is an MSX1 model and does not have a memory mapper, I can say that the DMS1 mk2 will not run on it. Correct? It does have the SFG-05 installed underneath, but I would need the SFG-01 to load the DMS1 mk1. It's seems my machine is caught in the middle of no mans land. I can't do anything with it with regards to DMS1...laugh.

I think DMS1 Mk2 works fine on a 32kB computer. It just makes use of extra memory if present, like on the CX5MII/128 (which is also MSX1 by the way).
