I already do this for the Amiga and Atari ST. Thought I'd let the MSX community take advantage of it.

P.s Sorry for being a "breadhead", but we all have to make a living ;)

Nice bit of kit, I just have a question: can you assign the other buttons, like select, start & the shoulder buttons to do other functions on the MSX computer?

What functions did you have in mind?

If you have another look at the listing I have added a picture showing all the button mappings.

Very cool, I was hoping at least for the left analogue stick to be mapped like the d-pad, is that possible with this version?

Not to nitpick or anything - maybe for a possible future version though - instead of having a button for autofire on and autofire off, what about having the [] square button will toggle on/off autofire on the x button, and triangle will toggle on/off autofire on the O button, this way the buttons can have independant autofire. This way, the jump function is unaffected by autofire, and the weapon button can have autofire? Or, is it already possible to do this a different way, and I've overlooked something?

best regards,
- dink

It's extremely difficult to use the analogue sticks for anything as they need to be automatically calibrated at startup. it would need a lot more development.

The problem with toggling autofire with the same button is you would need a foolproof de-bounce algorithm. I thought it would be much more reliable to use separate buttons.

Anything is possible though, and in the future, who knows?

On the other hand, it would be very foolish of me to say "hey guys, don't buy this version, wait for the next version it will be much better!". Wink

Tip: joymega compatibility would be very welcome. By that I mean Megadrive 6-button protocol compatibility, but with the MSX pinout.

And a version with the original Sega pinout would allow you to sell your adapter to Sega Megadrive & Master System owners too.

Works great . Nice piece of Hardware.

Just a thought : since pads/joys for Msx and Fm Towns are the same - can i use this adapter with my Marty console ?

i did not try yet, cause i read about damage can be done to the joyport with some adapters.

can you clear this up ?

I need a ps2 to msx mouse adapter that uses joystick port 1 as normal msx mouse and joystick port 2 sends mousewheel as msx mouse y axis movement, can you make that?
