in the 80's a friend of mine showed to me his SONY F900 MSX2 upgraded to MSX2+ with a cartridge.
He lost every MSX stuff.
Do somebody know if it still exist?
I remember that those CART adds V9958, MSX-Audio and RAM.
I think that it would be perfect for my VG-8235 with 720k drive in addiction to Megarom SCC SD.
Do you think that OCM would be less expensive? In that case I have a wonderful VG-8235 with 720k drive to make an exchange :-)
Never heard of that cartridge! In Spain MSX2+ upgrade kits were sold to convert some MSX2 computers from Sony and Philips to MSX2+ but they were not single cartridges (they were internal upgrades consisting in replacing the VDP and adding MSX2+ ROM chips).
Are you refering to neos cartridge ? I thought only the 9958 and rom were in , and that only prototype exist ...
Any idea of the origin of the cartridge ?
I know that some 80colomun cartridge were modify in brazil but again no fm ...

I've seen one of these before, it contains a slot expander, the SUB ROM, the FM BIOS , YM2413 and V9958 with video encoder hardware (for RGB and composite). It still requires you to disable the internal VDP and replace the BIOS inside of the computer with the 2+ BIOS.
Basically it's not like the NEOS Version UP adapter which you just plug on a MSX1.
Since this existed here in Brazil it's possible other similar products also existed outside of the country.

I'm not so able with circuits, but I could consider it.

giuseve: that's odd, because for MSX2+ you don't need more RAM nor MSX-Audio...
I'm in doubt about 2 features of MSX2+
- RAM: usually limited to 64K: the same ram of MSX1 after a lot of MSX2 born with 128K. Does it mean that some MSX2 software could not work on MSX2+ with only 64K
- VDP: usually it is NTSC @60hz. Shoud I set 50Hz everytime?
- AC Power. Usually they have 110V power supply.
I don't know how much would cost an european MSX2+ with 128K or 256K.
