Fix for broken Sany Wavy 70 FD / FD2 drives

Hi,

I have a few broken Sanyo drives and just found out that replacing the 10V 4.7 mF capacitor fixed all the non-functional drives!

Maybe this will help other users. Next is to find out how to repair all those broken Philips drives..

That's bad for you
But the drives i have are in an wavy 55fd2,wavy 70fd and wavy70fd2
You have to search for an replacement.

Sanyo wavy drives are half-height 3,5" drives and they can be easily replaced with a PC drive. The only caveat is that they have, if I'm not wrong, the power and data in the same cable; so to plug a standard PC drive, an adapter is needed.

On the mainboard or on the diskdrive?

That's on the drive as far as I remember .

I found one on the drive but is 4,7 uF ( micro farad) 25V?
