I have these pictures from a long time...see here
and I still continue to look for new ones because with MSX it is never finished to find new extra things

Very interesting, especially when you can read that this graphic extension is also compatible for developing graphics with Captain videotex terminal.

As the MPC-X was released in 1985, what means before release of the first MSX2 computers (in 1986), and that it has palette features as on a MSX2, we can guess that it hides a pre-V9938 chip (? without the screen 8).

Also note that the NTT Captain Multi-Station has been released in 1987 and that it has a V99C37-F coprocessor to even more extend the possibilities of different colors (but there were already Captain terminals before 1987).

Was the MPC-X a step in direction to the V99C37-F coprocessor ???

It could also mean that the NTT Captain Multi-Station has superimposing features ...

Where did you get the info about the RAM/VRAM of the unit?

Just my guess for the VRAM.

As the high-resolution is almost screen 7 high-resolution, I guess we need 128kB VRAM (with 64kB VRAM, screen 7 can't work).

For the RAM : it's mentioned on Generation MSX.

Thanks mars2000you. I still have yet to see one, or even one for sale on Yahoo Auctions Japan.

MPC-X was most earlier equipment which had V9938 than any other MSX2 computers.
AFAIK, Light-pen feature of V9938 was only used for MPC-X and MPC-27.
