Is there an R-Type version that has MSX2 graphics? oO I wasn't aware of that... Original R-Type is MSX1 only, but some people may think it uses MSX2 graphics - similar to Konami's Nemesis series for example.

The ROM is a 'one-off' type (16Kbyte blocks) and is 3 MBit, but considering block contents it's more like a 2 1/4 Mbit ROM. Wink

Yeah, but it's very subtle. Check stage 2 for example, it has a custom palette:
