talking about MSX pacmania... in those old good days when I bought Pacmania after reading review from Your Sinclair (see, no msx mags to read..) I was really amazed those funky tunes, which were so catchy that they just forced to play once again! Thought, I was so used to know, that commodore ALWAYS had better tunes... and many MSX conversions were not made to same style and standard as original c64 versions, just listen and compare MSX and C64 versions of Mastertronic´s FORMULA 1 SIMULATOR. ( and do not say, "but c64 was programmed by rob h..." ) MSX version is simplified, and it is much shorter, guitar solos are missing completely. So, I just waited the day I could hear better c64 version of Pacmania....

And that day came... almost fifteen years later... I downloaded commodore´s Pacmania and run it with emulator, and... WHAT!!!???!?!
It S U C K E D!!! That tune cannot be compared to MSX version in same day...!!!

Big smile MSX RULES!!! Big smile

Electric Software´s BUZZ OFF has nice "The flight of the bumblebee" Smile

Was anyone mentioned Gremlin Graphics´ KRAKOUT! ? Thought it is another example of musically watered down MSX version... it has just ONE tune compared to C64´s MANY. And even that ONLY ONE tune is MUCH SHORTER than C64 equivalent! AND (of course...) there are NOT any in-game tunes, C64 has. Why on earth Gremlin Graphics dropped "Graphics" from it´s name??? ( propably to sound much cooler.. ) It sounds more stupid to me without that good old Graphics..

Talking about c64's soundchip(SID), does anyone know what the specs of that thingy are? How much channels, does it have a sample chip or something like that? In the past I heard some nice tunes on it! Of course it can't be compared with music module or fm-pac(the SID is a much older chip).

SolidEric, you can do no wrong by going to www.lemon64.com and register and ask your question there. :) Maybe they have better Commodore knowledge than we have here! ;) There are LOTS of people to answer your questions and why not make some msx referring nickname while registering! :)
