We're only talking about the size of the device here ^_^

I meant really the size since its too wide
On the other hand its material would make cartridgeslots easier to make

Sunrise: Don't forget the prototype of MSX Association/ASCII/ESE differs quite a lot from the earlier ESE version that Sunrise has often demonstrated at MSX fairs. After having a close look on the latest version, Takashi Kobayashi concluded the size of the new One Chip MSX1 is about the size of a DVD case/new Playstation2, thus: very small (and smaller than the earlier 1chip prototypes).

First of all the size cannot differ much since I mentioned already the pcb-size
17 by 13 cm fits indeed in dvdbox. And I refer to an older playstation 2 and not the most recent type of playstation 2.
If you wanna bet , please be my guest ...

As the new PS2 is about as big as a DVD-case, calculate your chances ^_^

Sorry d-tail ,but that isnot the bet.
The bet is does the size of the pcb differ from the new pcb-size of the all in one chip. That the new playstation 2 meets that requirement of DVD-box for the better.
But you understand as well as I do , that the price will not be the price as mentioned by Bazix on Bussum

The PCB of Sunrise's ESE prototype isn't that big either. It looked similar in size as what I saw on the photo's. As for the price, I don't recall what numbers were mentioned at the presentation in Bussum but my personal guess would be something between €100 and €200.

Hey great and whatever, just don't waste a chance here chaps...
The retro computing market could use a funky design !
U should ask a school to design or prototype it
Say some "industriele vormgeving" in eindhoven for instance
could be a nice idea to have people do a design contest...
I understand the whole rack thing and cost budgetary stuff, but if y'all
love msx so much, don't you at least care a bit of what it looks like?
It shouldn't be forgotten once it's been implemented in a case that's all
I'm saying...else it ain't a revival but a sad nerve twitch

I mean,if it's a regular msx, you might as well use the old ones anyway,i mean what's the difference? Thing is,PUT THE FUCKING MSX WHERE IT BELONGS !!! NOT ON THE ATTICS AGAIN BUT IN THE HANDS OF PS2,X-BOX AND GAMECUBE FANS ! Think big, think msx Wink

I mean,c64 and atari are already remanufactured and built into these joysticks that you can attach to your tv...also I know EA is building such a console (jeroen tel is doing music for old retrogames for it), but WHY NOT MSX?
I leave you guys wondering about the possibilities......
